Passive sentences of simple past tense

Form of active sentence:

          SUBJECT + VERB 2 + OBJECT

Example:

1. I visited Bali last year
2. He completed the TOEFL Test fast
3. Our teacher submitted the English examination result
4. She saw a dangerous accident last night
5. The workers finished their jobs quickly a few hours a go

Form of Passive Sentences:

          SUBJECT  + WAS/WERE  +  PAST PARTICIPLE

Example:

1. Bali was visited by me last year.
2. The TOEFL Test was completed fast by him.
3. The English examination result was submitted by our teacher
4. Dangerous accident was seen by her last night.
5. Their jobs were finished quickly a few hours a go by the workers.

Note:
  • Subject of Active sentences becomes an Object of Passive sentences.
  • Object of Active sentences becomes a Subject of Passive Sentences
  • Verb 2 of Active sentences become Verb 3 or past participle in Passive Sentences.
